Learning Objectives
- Students will learn about the natural history and habitats of native Louisiana wildlife
- Students will learn to identify native birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and mammals
- Students will learn about special adaptations and comparative anatomy of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals
- Students will learn how to safely capture and handle a wide variety of animals (alligators, snakes, fish, bats, and other mammals) in the field using a broad spectrum of techniques (snares, nets, traps, drift fences, etc.)
- Students will learn how to track animals in the field using PIT tags and also radiotelemetry devices
- Students will learn how to collect, analyze, and present data
